Fudgy Brownies

Updated: Sep 4, 2020

Lately, I've been pretty obsessed with the edible gold dust I bought on amazon. I've always thought that brownies tend to look a little bland and since I made these for my colleague's 30th birthday, I thought this was a good opportunity to go all out.

Ingredients:

Batter:

- 1 cup all purpose flour

- 3/4 cups soft butter

- 1/4 cup vegetable oil

- 1 cup caster sugar

- 1 cup brown sugar

- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

- 2/3 cups cocoa powder

- 4 medium eggs

- 1 shot espresso

- 1/4 tsp cinnamon

Topping:

- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

- 1/2 cup whipping cream

Optional: edible gold dust

Yields 12 brownies

Preheat oven to 325 °F.

Mix sifted flour, cocoa powder and cinnamon, then slowly add remaining ingredients. Mix well and transfer batter to a baking dish lined with parchment paper or butter.

Bake brownies for approximately 40 minutes, potentially shorter if you want the brownies to be more fudgy. Let cool for a bit before pouring the ganache on top.

Heat the whipping cream either in the microwave or on the stove and melt the chocolate chips in the hot whipping cream. Mix with a whisk until the mixture is even and all of the chocolate bits are dissolved (you might have to put the mix back into the microwave for a little longer if the chocolate won't dissolve entirely). Pour on top of the brownies and let cool for at least 15-30 min before serving.

I dusted my brownies with some edible gold dust I bought on amazon (anything similar will do as well, this is not an ad). I hope you enjoy this recipe and don't forget to tag me if you try this recipe!

PS: look forward to more recipes featuring gold dust in the near future, I'm only getting started! :D
